Daily Schedule

Each girl's individual schedules varies. They each have individual therapy, family therapy, private lessons, etc. that also make up their week.

*Every other Saturday is different

**Most of Sunday is used for the all the girls to have their weekly phone call to parents (outside of family therapy)

Key

Community Meetings

Given to the girls to state the goals they are working on for the day and for peers and staff to give positive and constructive feedback to each other.

Chores

Each week the girls are assigned a chore to do in the house. These chores could include feeding the horses or cats, vacuuming the hallway, doing dishes etc. It is an aspect of our community living that helps the girls take accountability for their home.

Values Hour

Gives girls a chance to work on their personal values assignments needed to move up in the levels.

Free Time

Girls can play with animals, work on homework, do values, play games, read, talk with other girls or staff.

Level Activity

Girls that are on Insight level and above go off campus on Friday nights for an activity called "level". Each person gets $10 to spend on the activity that is planned out by the girls in a rotation.

Pizza and Movie Night

Every Saturday night, the houses have a pizza and movie night. The girls get to pick out the movies they watch. (Only movies without content including drugs, sexuality, or any other message that would impede therapy are allowed)

Parenting a Trauma Victim

When an adolescent experiences symptoms of post-traumatic stress, it’s not unusual for her parents to feel confused and suspicious. That’s because it’s incredibly painful for a parent to know that their child has been so deeply wounded. In fact, it can be so difficult to process a child’s trauma that the parent may unwittingly minimize and deny—it’s just too much to take in.

Everyday Family Wellness: Volunteering

While volunteering to help others may not seem like a sophisticated mental-health technique, those who engage in community service tend to weigh less, have fewer health problems, and report a higher measure of subjective happiness than those who don’t.

Everyday Family Wellness: Meals Together

Rather than suddenly corralling the family for seven nights of regimented dining, though, ease into it if it’s not already a habit. One or two nights a week is a great start. Make it fun by cooking something everyone will like (or even ordering in) and try to make dinner time fit everyone’s schedule to the extent you can. This approach is more likely to leave your family wanting more, rather than less, of this healthy family habit.
