Pamela McCollam, PhD

Pamela McCollam was a therapist at our north campus for two years before becoming New Haven's Research and Assessment Coordinator in August 2004. Before that, her experience covered wilderness therapy, college counseling center psychology, learning disabilities assessment, and sex offender treatment. Pam earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration from California State University at Long Beach, than making a career change, she completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University. Her graduate school research focused on outcome assessment of adolescents in therapy, and she was part of the team that developed the Youth Outcome Questionnaire, a widely used instrument in the field of adolescent mental health care.
 
Pam completes thorough assessments of all students within the first month of their stay, and does follow-up testing to clarify learning disability, cognitive processing, and complex diagnostic issues. She also manages an extensive research program at New Haven, studying outcome in therapy, trauma recovery, and sexual reactivity issues. Pam enjoys biking, rollerblading, snowboarding, and traveling.
