Thomas was raised on the campus of Southern Illinois University where he spent hours combing over the many shelves of books in the extensive collection at Morris library; this is where his love of literature was born. He moved to Utah in 2010 with his family after studying as an undergrad at New Mexico State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Arts with focuses in English Literature and History. He began his teaching career in conjunction with the University of Southern California while earning a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education. He has taught English in public High Schools in Utah, Charter Schools, and most recently a private school that specifically teaches students with learning disabilities. He enjoys spending his time exploring the mountain trails all over Utah and elsewhere hiking and camping with his two daughters, two sons, and their dog Sophie. He also enjoys spending his time drawing, painting, and writing poetry.
