Kristen VanOrman Buck was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Kristen is the oldest of six children. Her career plan of becoming a Pediatric Nurse was put on hold when she became a mother. She then found New Haven in 2007 and has loved being a part of the New Haven family ever since!

Kristen has played a crucial role at New Haven in the Residential department including almost four years as the Lead Supervisor of the Eleanor Roosevelt House where she was able to support students and families through their difficult, but powerful journeys. Kristen also had the opportunity to attend the New Haven service trip to Peru in June of 2013 which was an eye opening and incredible bonding experience for her and all who participated. Her passion, drive, creativity, love of the girls and families at New Haven are just a few of the many qualities that are appreciated by all who come in contact with Kristen.

Kristen is currently serving on the Membership board for NATSAP and has participated on various panels at NATSAP regional conferences. She has also served as a community volunteer for the past 10 years working with young women in various roles.

Kristen has five children including four boys and a teenage stepdaughter. Kristen practices interior design outside of New Haven, but also uses her keen sense of interior style to help make the residential houses feel even more welcoming, warm, and home like. Kristen also loves to travel, refinish old furniture, golf, and spend time in the outdoors.
