Kennedy

Susan B. Anthony House

Kennedy received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Utah Valley University and her Master’s from the University of Utah.
Since 2021, Kennedy has worked with foster care youth (ages 3-18) and their families, and also in post-adoption settings providing primarily in-home services. The experience gained regarding the heavy and lasting impact of unaddressed trauma deeply impacted Kennedy’s therapeutic approach. Prior to working with foster care youth, Kennedy worked in a short-term crisis residential facility supporting stabilization with youth and teens where she became especially familiar with adverse experiences and therapeutic approaches for trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and LGBTQIA+ related issues.
Kennedy has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and is an Art Therapy Practitioner (ATP).
Kennedy believes that every child has the internal capability to create lasting personal change; and that having a supportive family system that is willing to learn and engage in changing behavior and relationship patterns, dramatically increases the well-being and stability of children and families impacted by complex trauma. Kennedy is a very relational-centered person with her clients; addressing them with warmth and attentiveness, and she loves having many opportunities to celebrate their unique personalities, strengths, and interests.
In her spare time Kennedy loves to read, roller skate, and do all the craft projects she can! She enjoys the art of amateur film photography, snuggling with her two cats, and going for long hikes in the mountains with her husband.
