Kennedy received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Utah Valley University and her Master’s from the University of Utah.
Since 2021, Kennedy has worked with foster care youth (ages 3-18) and their families and in post-adoption settings providing primarily in-home services. The experience gained on the heavy and lasting impact of unaddressed trauma deeply impacted Kennedy’s therapeutic approach. Prior to working with foster care youth, Kennedy worked in a short-term crisis residential facility supporting stabilization with youth and teens where she became especially familiar with struggles and therapeutic approaches for trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and LGBTQIA+.
Kennedy has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Art Therapy Practitioner (ATP).
Kennedy believes that every child has the internal capability to create lasting personal change; having a supportive family system that is willing to learn and engage in changing behavior and patterns, dramatically increases the well-being and stability of their child(ren). Kennedy is a very relational-centered person with her clients; addressing them with warmth and attentiveness and loves celebrating their unique personalities and interests.
In her spare time Kennedy loves to read, roller skate, and do all the craft projects she can! She enjoys the art of amateur film photography, snuggling with my cats, and going for long hikes in the mountains with her husband.
