Shea grew up near the watery sands of Southern California, where she loved to go to the beach and soak up the beautiful sun. She originally moved to Idaho to attend college, but soon found herself drifting away from the frigid temperatures to a somewhat milder climate in Provo, Utah where she began attending Brigham Young University. She began her major in Marriage Family Human Development and was looking for a place to be able to make a difference. It was then that she learned of New Haven by attending a career fair. As a staff, she quickly fell in love with the New Haven philosophies and girls. She worked on the residential team for about two years, enjoying the chance to build meaningful relationships that she continues to treasure today. It was during that time that she got to see lives change and families be reunited.
Shea left to serve a mission for her church in Kentucky, where she learned Spanish and fell more in love with helping to serve families. After her return, she quickly made her way back home to New Haven. She then found the ‘love of her life.’ She is now newly married and looking forward to starting her own family, and to continue working and serving the girls and their families.
