Kaylan grew up in Utah where, from a young age, she enjoyed connecting with others and building strong relationships with people around her. Kaylan began her journey at New Haven years ago as a residential staff where she came to love the atmosphere and the relationships she built with students in the program. It was that experience that solidified her decision to become a therapist. From there Kaylan graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work from Weber State University. While on this journey Kaylan proceeded to work at Residential Treatment Centers where her passion for working with adolescents grew and where she continued to gain valuable experience.

Continuing her academic and professional journey, Kaylan achieved her Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Kaylan is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. With a deep belief in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, Kaylan works closely with her clients to explore and embrace who they are as individuals.

Kaylan has diverse experience having previously worked in substance use treatment and with juveniles with problematic sexual behaviors. Her work with adolescents and their families is underpinned by her belief in the idea that a collaborative effort is required for lasting change.

Kaylan married her best friend and together they enjoy being outside, watching movies, and just spending quality time together. Kaylan loves being a mom and when she isn’t working you will likely find her on an adventure with her girls. Kaylan’s passion for uplifting and connecting with others makes her a dedicated advocate for her clients’ mental and emotional health.
